Music for All announced today the Master Classes for the 2020 National Choir Festival.   Participating choirs will experience the following interactive master classes during the festival, March 12-14 in Indianapolis:

A Master Class with Composer-In-Residence, Rosephanye Dunn-Powell: Rehearse and perform the commissioned piece with the composer.  Learn about the process of composition from original concept to notes on the page and music in the ear.

Russian Folk Music with Guest Conductor, Elena Sharkova: Share the passion and expertise of St. Petersburg, Russia native, Elena Sharkova, as you explore the beauty and allure of folk songs from Russia.

Vocal Jazz Adventures with Ly Wilder (pictured): Explore the style, sound, songs and stories that make jazz America’s indigenous music through the lens of great American jazz vocalist, Ella Fitzgerald. Rooted in pop with improvisation at every turn, this master class will have you singing everything from swing to musical theater standards to hip-hop and back again!

The Instrument Inside of Me; Reaching Your Highest Potential as a Vocalist and Choral Musician: Take a group voice lesson from professional singer and choral conductor, John McClain. Study the nuances of choral and solo singing for a variety of genres and settings.

Sing Side-By-Side with the Aeolians: Experience choral immersion with the Oakwood Aeolians!  Explore such things as tone color, dynamics, and interpretation under the guided hand of Music for All Associate Artistic Director, Jason Max Ferdinand.
